POST 121 NEWS
Our doors may be closed as many businesses are right now but we are proud to still be serving our community in this time of need. It has been amazing to watch how our community has come to together to continue supporting our local small businesses throughout these trying times.
As many of you may have seen on the news or witnessed for yourself at the stores. Shortages and or purchase limits being set on dairy products. With schools and restaurants being shut down across the state and the nation large contracted orders of dairy products have come to an abrupt halt.
All of this has had a major impact on our local family run dairy farmers to the point that local farmers are being asked to reduce their milk production, possibly have to dump their milk down the drain and even being offered a buy out option to sell their herd and quit milking. Without farmers we have no food.
Post 121 has purchased 500lbs of cheese curds from the Ellsworth Coop Creamery to be distributed through our local area food shelf serving local families in need while also supporting our local dairy farmers.
Post 121 meetings are held the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month at 7 PM.
At this time we are also hosting meetings virtually. Please reach out if you would like us to send you the virtual meeting information.

Important Notes for Blood Donors who have been vaccinated for Covid-19:
1.) Upon vaccination, you should receive a card or printout indicating what vaccine was received.
The Red Cross encourages you to bring that card with you to your next donation.
2.) If you have had Covid-19 vaccination, you may have to wait (deferral time) to donate blood:
Moderna or Pfizer vaccine - there is no deferral time.
AstraZeneca or Janssen/J&J vaccine - donors must wait two weeks before giving blood.
If you do not know what type of COVID-19 vaccine you received, you must wait four weeks before donating blood.
3.) Regardless of the type of vaccine you received, you must be symptom free and feeling well at the time of donation.
If you are experiencing any symptoms from the COVID-19 vaccine, the Red Cross asks that you postpone your donation until you are feeling better.
4.) If you have medical questions, please call the Donor Health Line at 1-866-236-3276; press option “2”.
The Red Cross may need specific timelines and additional details to provide the best answers.
Our newly renovated and beautifully decorated reception hall is a must see if you are planning an event. See our Hall Rental page for more details.
